How to use this Guide

Explanation of Symbols

King Fat Badger Explains:If you're looking for inns in a particular county, then click on the Country Wine Glass and then choose the county from the drop down list.

The page can then be scrolled down to browse through the inns that we recommend in that County.

If you are not sure exactly where each county is located in relation to the rest of the United Kingdom, then click on the 'Map' Wine Glass to go to a clickable map where you can zoom in on the counties. You will also find an explanation of county boundaries in England and Wales.

The UK has good pubs in all locations. The Fat Badgers list many of them but certainly not all and unlike many pub guides on the Internet, we do not claim to be the biggest or the best, but we are certainly bigger and better than many that do !
We don't list detailed information on opening times and menus, as these are ever changing and we wouldn't want to send you to a pub that was closed. If it is important that the inn is open at a certain time - then common sense says that you should phone first to confirm details. Even we have been caught out by turning up at a pub that was closed when it should have been open - on more than one occasion !

We would of course appreciate a mention when you speak to any that we list !

All the inns listed on fatbadgers.co.uk are personally researched and in almost all cases, visited. Some do not yet have photographs as some of our inspectors visit at night time or are not intelligent enough to operate a camera !
We will use our own photo's or those that the inn themselves send to us. We do not copy photographs from other guides, nor do we copy their symbols or text, unlike many other guides who do. We try to keep the text from inns that are nominated online as close to the original nominators words as possible although we reserve the right to amend and in most cases add to their recommendations.
We have on occasions found guides that have breached copyright laws and stolen our photographs, some of which have claimed to be the biggest databases of pubs on the net when in reality they list about 40. Whilst we have not yet sent our mothers round to sort them out - they have been noted and will be asked to either remove them or pay us lots of money.

All our photographs are copyrighted to the Fat Badgers - it is theft if they are used by anybody else and we reserve our right to spread Jam over the monitors of anybody who nicks them - We are quite nice though and we might let you if you ask nicely !
