We’re a pretty laid back bunch of Badgers and nothing upsets us very much apart from when somebody takes a gulp of our pint of bitter, then we might show our teeth. We also don’t like it when people steal our photographs. We have been known to let people use them if they ask nicely but it’s downright rude to just take them. We sometimes add a copyright symbol to photos and sometimes not if we’re editing the site whilst three sheets to the wind but it should be clear that our photos are just that - ‘ours’ Sometimes the quality of photos isn’t brilliant, they’re mostly the one’s on the tourist information county pages as they haven’t changed since 1984 when everyone was using dial up to get on the internet and photos had to be very small - we’re slowly getting around to upgrading them but some of the old photos need to be re-scanned and they’ve been stashed away in boxes somewhere that aren’t that easy to locate. Some of them were taken in bad weather and weren’t always the best quality anyway and we don’t often get to re-visit somewhere to take a new one.

We’ve now got nearly half a million photos in our archives either scanned or digital. We started taking digital photos in 2000 with a Kodak DC210 and they were somewhat blurry at around 100 Kb compared to the 20 Mb shots that we currently use. If any of our photos don’t have the copyright symbol, it doesn’t mean they aren’t ours or aren’t copyrighted.

As you would imagine, since 1984 when this guide started, we have spent a huge amount of time and money researching good pubs to be able to offer not only British people a guide to some of the best pubs in the country but also visitors to our welcoming little place on the planet.
